About Vesper Applied

Learning in public.
Checking the details.

An independent project exploring quantitative finance through market data, portfolio accounting, and the software used to study them.

The project

A public record of the work.

Vesper Applied is my independent project. I choose the questions and direct the work. AI tools help write the code, investigate problems, and draft explanations. I am learning to assess those results, and AI assistance does not replace source checks or independent technical review.

The focus here is on questions that can be examined closely: whether an event belongs to a security, what a return calculation assumes, and what a test actually establishes.

Publications remain under the Vesper Applied name. They describe their evidence and limitations. A published note is not a claim of professional credentials or independent validation.

What you can read

Detailed notes. Clear explanations.

Research contains technical notes and perspectives. The Blog offers shorter explanations and project updates.

The wider archive includes tokenizer engineering and work on small language models. The September 2026 model update remains a historical account, not a statement of current readiness.

If Vesper-400M proves useful, I want to release it publicly after evaluation, data and redistribution rights, appropriate licensing, and documentation have been addressed. This is not an announcement of a finished model or a release date.
